48 Hours in the Life

Wednesday, September 23, 2026 - 11:30am to 1:00pm

Join ANEW for a powerful and eye-opening panel discussion featuring community leaders who have participated in "48 Hours in the Life," an immersive awareness experience designed to provide a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness.

Through realistic scenarios and firsthand reflections, panelists will share what they learned while navigating situations that many in our community face every day. This candid conversation will explore the realities of housing insecurity, barriers to stability, and the importance of compassion, advocacy, and community support.

Our panel includes:

• Lisa Vaughan, Commission on Food Security, Evansville, Indiana

• Chaz Halsell, Senior Vice President, Fifth Third Bank

• Taylor Merriss, Special Projects Coordinator, Evansville Police Department

• Nick Iaccarino, CEO, Keep Evansville Beautiful

• Hope Fussner, IT Customer Relationship Manager/Project Manager, Deaconess

This meaningful discussion will challenge perspectives, inspire empathy, and encourage action as we work together to strengthen our community. Join us for this important conversation and gain a deeper understanding of homelessness and its impact in our community.
